Dermal fillers are one of the most versatile and widely used non-surgical aesthetic treatments available today. By restoring lost volume, smoothing deep folds, defining facial contours, and rejuvenating delicate areas such as the lips and under-eyes, fillers offer natural-looking improvement with immediate results and minimal downtime. At New York Cornea Consultants & Aesthetics, we offer a carefully curated selection of FDA-approved hyaluronic acid-based fillers — including the full Restylane family — tailored to each patient's unique anatomy and aesthetic goals.
As we age, the face naturally loses collagen, elastin, and subcutaneous fat, leading to hollowing, sagging, and the deepening of folds and lines. Dermal fillers address these changes by replenishing volume precisely where it has been lost, reestablishing the structural support that gives the face its youthful shape and proportion. When placed by an experienced clinician with a thorough understanding of facial anatomy, fillers produce results that look refreshed and natural — never overdone.
Most modern dermal fillers are composed of hyaluronic acid (HA) — a naturally occurring substance found throughout the body that attracts and retains water, providing hydration and volume to the skin. Because HA fillers are biocompatible and non-animal sourced, they carry a very low risk of allergic reaction and are fully reversible with an enzyme called hyaluronidase, giving both patients and clinicians an important safety advantage.
Fillers are injected using a fine needle or blunt-tipped cannula into specific layers of tissue depending on the area being treated and the degree of correction required. Superficial injections address fine lines and surface texture, while deeper placements restore structural volume and contour. The result is immediate — patients see the improvement in the treatment room — and continues to refine over the following days as the filler integrates with the surrounding tissue and any initial swelling subsides.
The Restylane collection offers a comprehensive range of HA-based fillers, each engineered with a specific particle size, cross-linking technology, and consistency to perform optimally in different areas of the face. This allows our clinicians to select the most appropriate product for each treatment zone and desired outcome.
The original Restylane formula is a versatile, medium-density filler well suited for smoothing moderate to severe facial folds such as nasolabial folds (the lines from the nose to the corners of the mouth) and marionette lines, as well as adding subtle volume to the lips and defining facial contours. Results typically last six to twelve months depending on the treatment area and individual metabolism.
Restylane Silk is the first FDA-approved filler specifically designed for lip augmentation and the treatment of fine lines around the mouth. Its smaller, smoother HA particles make it ideal for delicate areas where a lighter touch is needed — producing soft, natural-looking lip enhancement and smoothing perioral lines without heaviness or an unnatural appearance. It is particularly well suited for patients seeking subtle lip definition rather than dramatic volume.
Restylane Lyft is a robust, higher-density filler formulated for lifting and volumizing the midface, cheeks, and hands. Its larger particle size provides the structural support needed to restore cheek projection, lift sagging tissue in the midface, and rejuvenate the hands by concealing prominent tendons and veins. Restylane Lyft is also FDA-approved for hand rejuvenation — one of the few fillers with this specific indication.
Restylane Defyne uses XpresHAn Technology™ to create a flexible, cross-linked gel that moves naturally with facial expressions. It is designed for moderate to severe deep facial lines — particularly nasolabial folds and marionette lines — in patients who want natural movement and expression preserved alongside their correction. Its adaptable consistency makes it a preferred choice for dynamic areas of the face.
Also formulated with XpresHAn Technology™, Restylane Refyne is a softer, more pliable filler intended for mild to moderate facial lines. It provides natural-looking softening of lines around the nose and mouth while allowing full facial movement, making it an excellent option for patients in the earlier stages of facial aging or those seeking subtle refinement.
Restylane Kysse is specifically engineered for lip augmentation and perioral line treatment in adults. Using XpresHAn Technology™, it provides flexible volume that moves naturally with the lips — enhancing shape, structure, and color while maintaining a soft, kissable feel. Kysse is particularly popular among patients who want fuller, more defined lips that still look and feel completely natural.
Restylane Contour is designed for cheek augmentation and the correction of midface contour deficiencies. Its unique formulation provides lift and lateral projection to the cheeks while adapting naturally to facial movement, restoring a youthful midface structure without rigidity or an artificial appearance.
Restylane Eyelight is the first and only HA filler FDA-approved specifically for the treatment of under-eye hollows (tear troughs). The under-eye area is one of the most technically demanding regions of the face to treat, requiring a filler with precise spreadability and a low risk of the Tyndall effect — the bluish discoloration that can occur when inappropriate fillers are placed too superficially in this delicate zone. Eyelight is formulated to address this with safety and precision, restoring a rested, refreshed appearance to the periocular area.
In addition to the Restylane family, we offer select products from the Juvederm collection — another leading line of FDA-approved HA fillers developed by Allergan. The Juvederm collection uses Vycross™ technology to create smooth, cohesive gels with varying densities suited to different treatment areas.
Juvederm Ultra XC is a smooth, versatile filler used for lip augmentation and the treatment of moderate facial folds. Juvederm Ultra Plus XC is a denser formulation designed for deeper folds and areas requiring more substantial volume correction. Both contain lidocaine for added comfort during injection and typically last nine to twelve months.
Juvederm Voluma XC is specifically formulated for deep injection into the cheek area to correct age-related midface volume loss. It is one of the longest-lasting fillers available, with results that can persist for up to two years. Voluma provides lift and contour to the cheeks and chin, reestablishing youthful facial proportions with a natural-looking outcome.
Juvederm Vollure XC uses Vycross™ technology to address moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds with a flexible, long-lasting result — up to eighteen months in many patients. Its smooth, adaptable consistency makes it well suited for nasolabial folds and other dynamic areas where natural movement is a priority.
Juvederm Volbella XC is a fine, lightweight filler designed for subtle lip augmentation and the softening of perioral lines. Its low water-absorption properties minimize swelling and produce a smooth, natural lip appearance that lasts up to one year. It is an excellent option for patients seeking gentle lip definition or softening of vertical lip lines.
Dermal fillers can be used to address a wide range of concerns across the face and select body areas. At New York Cornea Consultants & Aesthetics, our clinicians are experienced in treating:
Filler treatments at New York Cornea Consultants & Aesthetics begin with a detailed consultation to assess your facial anatomy, discuss your goals, and select the most appropriate products and placement strategy. Photographs are taken for reference, and a treatment plan is outlined before any injections are administered.
The treatment area is cleansed and a topical numbing cream may be applied for comfort. Most HA fillers also contain lidocaine, which provides additional anesthesia as the product is injected, making the experience well tolerated by most patients. Depending on the areas treated, a session typically takes 30 to 60 minutes.
Immediately following treatment, mild swelling, redness, and tenderness at injection sites are normal and typically resolve within two to five days. Bruising is possible, particularly in vascular areas such as the lips and under-eyes, and may take up to one to two weeks to fully resolve. Patients are advised to avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol, and blood-thinning medications for 24 to 48 hours following treatment, and to sleep with the head slightly elevated on the first night to minimize swelling.
Results from dermal fillers are visible immediately and continue to refine over the following one to two weeks as swelling subsides and the filler integrates with the surrounding tissue. Longevity varies by product, treatment area, and individual metabolism — generally ranging from six months for finer fillers in high-movement areas to up to two years for structural fillers placed in the cheeks or chin.
Maintenance treatments are recommended before the filler has fully dissolved to "top up" existing correction rather than starting from scratch, which typically requires less product and preserves results more efficiently over time. Your clinician will advise on the ideal maintenance schedule based on the products used and your individual response.
Patient safety is the foundation of every filler treatment we perform. All products used at New York Cornea Consultants & Aesthetics are FDA-approved, and treatments are administered by experienced clinical staff under physician oversight. Our team's background in ocular and periocular anatomy is particularly valuable in the treatment of delicate areas such as the under-eyes, temples, and periorbital region — areas that require precise technique and a thorough understanding of vascular anatomy to treat safely.
All HA fillers used in our practice are fully reversible with hyaluronidase — an enzyme that rapidly dissolves hyaluronic acid — providing an important safety net in the unlikely event of a vascular complication or an outcome the patient wishes to adjust. We maintain hyaluronidase on hand at all times and are trained in its use for both elective reversal and emergency management.
Prior to every treatment, a comprehensive review of medical history, current medications, and prior aesthetic procedures is conducted to identify any contraindications and ensure the safest possible outcome. We welcome all questions and encourage patients to take the time they need to feel fully informed before proceeding.
