Botox/Dysport®

About

Botox and Dysport are FDA-approved, physician-administered injectable treatments that temporarily reduce the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines and facial wrinkles. Both work by relaxing the underlying muscles responsible for dynamic wrinkles — lines caused by repeated facial expressions such as squinting, frowning, and smiling — resulting in a smoother, more refreshed appearance without surgery or significant downtime.

At New York Cornea Consultants & Aesthetics, our experienced clinical team personalizes each treatment to your facial anatomy and aesthetic goals, ensuring natural-looking results that preserve your facial expression and movement.

Botox® Cosmetic

BOTOX® Cosmetic is the only neurotoxin of its type approved by the FDA for the temporary smoothing of moderate to severe frown lines between the brows. It is a simple, non-surgical treatment administered by a physician in a single short appointment. Botox works by blocking the nerve signal to targeted muscles, reducing their activity and temporarily preventing the contractions that cause frown lines to form.

Results are subtle and natural-looking, with no impact on overall facial expression. Treatment takes just minutes, requires no anesthesia, and involves little to no downtime — making it one of the most popular cosmetic procedures performed today.

Dysport®

Dysport® (abobotulinumtoxinA) is a prescription injectable that offers adults under 65 an effective solution for moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows. Like Botox, Dysport works by reducing specific muscle activity to smooth frown lines and rejuvenate one's appearance — but with a formulation that many patients find spreads slightly more, making it particularly well-suited for broader treatment areas.

Frown lines between the eyebrows are frequently associated with the aging process, but can also appear earlier in life due to repeated facial expressions like squinting and frowning. Dysport addresses these lines with just five minor injections above and between the brows in a single short appointment.

Fast-acting and natural-looking results

Both women and men treated with Dysport experience fast-acting results that look completely natural, with no impact on facial expression or movement. Results can last up to 5 months, and maintenance appointments are simple and convenient to schedule.

Dermal Fillers: Restylane® & Juvederm®

The image is a collage featuring various advertisements related to cosmetic treatments and skincare products, including before-and-after images of facial rejuvenation procedures, text promoting kisses that whiten teeth, and an advertisement for Restylane dermal fillers with a woman s face shown in different stages.

While Botox and Dysport address dynamic wrinkles caused by muscle movement, dermal fillers target static wrinkles and volume loss — the lines and hollows that are present even at rest. Restylane® and Juvederm® are FDA-approved hyaluronic acid-based fillers that restore fullness, smooth deep folds, and sculpt facial contours with natural-looking results.

Hyaluronic acid is a substance naturally found in the skin, and because these fillers are not derived from animal or human tissue, there is no risk of disease transmission and a very low risk of allergic reaction. Results typically last six months for Restylane and nine to twelve months for Juvederm, making them longer-lasting than older collagen-based treatments.

Common uses for dermal fillers include:

  • Smoothing nasolabial folds (lines from the nose to the corners of the mouth)
  • Restoring volume to the cheeks and midface
  • Sculpting and enhancing the lips
  • Improving the appearance of acne scars
  • Defining the jawline and chin

Both Restylane and Juvederm are available in thinner and thicker formulations, allowing our clinicians to select the right product for each area and achieve your desired outcome with precision.

What to Expect at Your Visit

All injectable treatments begin with a thorough consultation to assess your facial anatomy, discuss your goals, and determine the most appropriate products and placement. Treatments are administered by our experienced clinical team and typically take 15 to 30 minutes, with little to no downtime afterward.

Results vary by individual and product used, but most patients see noticeable improvement within days. A follow-up plan is discussed at your appointment to help you maintain and build on your results over time.
